The Story of Alkinoos Kingdom

Alkinoos Kingdom – The Original Dive Site of Corfu

Alkinoos Kingdom is not just another dive site in Corfu. It is a landmark location with a real and distinctive history, directly connected to high-level underwater operations and exploration.

The site was first identified in 1988 during a naval special operations mission, in which the founder of Hercules Diving Center participated while serving in Hellenic Navy special forces. The initial operation in the area involved the controlled detonation of a water mine, during which the unique underwater formations were first encountered and recognized—marking the discovery of what is now known as Alkinoos Kingdom.

Following this initial discovery, from 1988 onward the area was systematically explored, mapped, and developed by the Hercules team. Through years of hands-on experience and continuous exploration, we revealed the full potential of this extraordinary dive site and made it safely accessible to divers.

Every route, every safe passage, and every highlight within Alkinoos Kingdom is the result of our direct work and long-term dedication. This is not second-hand knowledge—it is firsthand exploration.

The name Alkinoos Kingdom reflects the unique character of the site, inspired by Greek mythology and the feeling of entering an underwater realm unlike any other. With its impressive rock formations, natural corridors, and thriving marine life, it stands as one of the most distinctive dives in Corfu.

As the reputation of Alkinoos Kingdom has grown, so has the attempt by others to replicate or rebrand the experience under different names. However, a different name does not change the origin of the site or the team behind its discovery and development.

Our journey began when Iraklis, fueled by his deep love for the sea, envisioned sharing his passion and knowledge with fellow sea enthusiasts.

Since 2010, we've steadily grown as a diving center, prioritizing quality over quantity every step of the way.
